Going With Tesla Solar Panels

Today, everyone is looking for the best and newest way to not only save a couple of dollars, but to do so in a way that helps the environment, too. The good thing about this is there is a very easy solution to help you achieve both: Tesla Solar Panels.

It may not be a very well-known stat, but the sun produces enough energy within one hour to be able to supply the Earth with enough energy to last us an entire year. Because of this, it seems almost foolish to not try and harness this power to benefit your own home.

With Tesla Solar Panels your family home can be capable of gathering this free, clean, and abundant energy source by turning sunlight into electricity nearly instantly. This power can even be stored in a Powerwall battery to take full advantage of it.

Harnessing solar energy allows your home to generate its own electricity which will help you lower your household utilities bill. As well, Tesla solar panels give you much more power over your home’s energy production, as well as consumption, helping you become a more green home.

While solar panels are often looked at as an investment to increase the value of your home and property by reducing its carbon footprint, Tesla’s new panels can also help rise the aesthetic value of your home, as well.

“I think there’s quite a radical difference between having solar panels on your roof that actually make your house look better versus ones that do not,” Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in a statement before launching the company’s solar panels. “I think it’s going to be a night-and-day difference.”

With Tesla Solar Panels you will not only be harnessing the power of the sun while still looking good, you can rest easy knowing that these panels produce zero carbon emissions, and can help you reduce your personal dependence on fossil fuels, as well as our general reliance on them.

How Tesla Solar Panels Work?

Tes;a Solar PanelsResidential solar panels, such as Tesla Solar Panels, are the perfect tools for harnessing the incredible power of the sun, and using that solar energy as electricity for powering your entire home, or office.

These aesthetically pleasing, and functionally strong Tesla Solar Panels collect solar energy and converts it into electricity that is then used to power your home. These panels allow your home to generate your own electricity and thus lower your utility bills and take control of your power usage and production.

The power that the Tesla Solar Panels collect that you do not use is then sent back into the power grid of your city. However, if you pair the Tesla Solar Panels with a Tesla Powerwall, you can store this excess power so it can be used any time – even when the sun is not out.

This clean, and reliable energy that is collected straight from the sun produces zero emissions, allowing you to live a much more green, and carbon-free life.

What is the Installation Process?

Traditional roof-mounted solar panels are done after the fact, and involves attaching a separate module to your home long after the original roof has been built.

However, with Tesla Solar Panels, Elon Musk and Co. have gone to great lengths to help turn the installation of solar panels a Day 1 project, meaning the installation of Tesla solar panels is more of a construction job, rather than an after-the-fact home addition.

Building a roof with the solar panels ingrained in it can help reduce the cost of installations drastically by eliminating the need for separate racking equipment, as well as the labor of a second construction job.
Part of the installation process of Tesla Solar Panels is the mindset. Rather than looking at installing these panels as a cost-saving measurement, or even a long-term investment in your home’s energy bills, Tesla has created a roofing product that can truly be looked at as an investment in your home as a whole; adding not only energy-saving technology, but also an aesthetic compliment to your home.

Advantages of Tesla Solar Panels

The downfalls of traditional solar panels are well known, at least rumors of the downfalls are. It is near common knowledge that traditional solar panels can face severe challenges when it comes to cloudy, overcast days since these conditions tend to muddy the panels ability to gather power from the sun.
When it comes to Tesla Solar Panels these rainy-day downfalls are no more. Tesla panels take advantage of Tesla’s wall-mounted batteries in order to make sure that there is significant power being pumped to the panels, even when they cannot gather the ideal amount from the sun.

Musk has always intended his company (best known for their cars at this moment) to be all about advancing the availability of sustainable energy. So, it should not be a surprise that Tesla’s solar panels find ways to work a little better than the run-of-the-mill panels.

While their affordable prices, and electric energy generation may be enough to set these solar panels apart, that is not all of the advantages they have. Tesla solar panels are also known for being much more attractive than normal solar panels, as well as better insulators than most other brands. Both of these factors just add value to your home in more than ways than one. However, maybe most importantly, Tesla solar panels are known for being much more durable than other panels since they are made of glass. This makes them even more durable than a lot of typical roofing tiles, too, with an estimated lifespan of about 50 years.
What Are They Made Of?

The ability to absorb and expel power is clearly one of the top priorities of a solar panel. However, another important factor when it comes to choosing which panels you go with is the material that they are made of. This is because the source of these panels plays a huge factor in many areas, such as quality, durability and even look.
Tesla Solar Panels are some of the toughest, and longest-lasting panels on the market. Made of quartz, Musk says that the panels have a “quasi-infinite lifetime.”

The Tesla solar panel roofs can come in multiple different types of model design including Tuscan glass tile, slate glass, textured glass and even smooth glass tile. These options mean that having solar panels on your home no longer requires you to have large, bulking panels hanging off of your roof. And you no longer have to sacrifice aesthetics, or your carbon footprint when trying to be more energy efficient.

History of Solar Panels

The power of solar energy has been being harnessed in one way or another for centuries. However, the use of solar panels for home and offices did not become very prominent until the 1950s.

In 1953, the silicon solar cell was discovered and was used for the first time to create a cell that was powerful enough to run small electrical devices. This breakthrough was called the start of a “new era” by the New York Times.
By the ’70s, the affordability of solar energy was becoming more reasonable, as the cost-per-watt had dropped from around $100 to about $20. This was the first decade where solar energy was really starting to be thought of as a legit alternative to fuel.

Today’s solar panels have reached a point where a base-model panel can reach about 80 percent efficiency and are designed to last around 20 years with very little maintenance (much longer with the tougher, and more durable Tesla solar panels.)

Solar panels are now a legitimate alternative for those looking to save some coin on utility bills, or even go as far as getting their home off of the power grid.

About Tesla Inc.

Led by CEO and Chairman, Elon Musk, Tesla, Inc. is most well known for being an automaker. However, they are also a large producer of energy storage systems, as well as solar panels. The company is based out of Palo Alto, Calif., and has been seeking to change the way the world consumes and uses energy since they were founded in 2003.
In August 2016, Tesla, Inc. acquired SolarCity Corp. for about $2.6 billion in stock. With this addition to their team, Tesla, Inc. became the largest installer of rooftop solar systems in the United States. Now, Tesla, Inc. is known for building Powerwalls, Powerpacks, batteries and various models of solar panels for both homes and industries.
In late 2016 – after the SolarCity Corp. purchase – Tesla, Inc revealed their Tesla Glass technology. Originally built to be the roof glass of their Tesla Model 3 car, this glass has been developed with the SolarCity Corp. roof tiles in order to create durable, and great looking solar panels that are perfect for both home and office use
